I'm only saying this for your sake, but objectively, it's not a smart idea to bring politics into normal hobbies. You might lose supporters of your blog just because of your political stance, and that would be terrible since you're so amazing!! It's only a suggestion, but I really reccomend not bringing politics into anything.

The more or less finished model of the Mr. Long Alien Wolf ~

What a weird creature it is! I think this is one of my favorite models I’ve made so far. (WIPs I shared some time ago)

These guys don’t have detailed story or lore (yet?), though I shared a bit about them under one of my illustrations. With this model, I tried to shape their realistic appearance, following my idea of a very thin (it’s the old idea of my world that almost all its creatures are weirdly long and thin) and alien canine-like creature, which isn’t actually canine.

It’s also fun to compare them to Solfshein, likely related arctic species which is much heavier and fuffier.

    YOU FUCKING RENDERED THIS???????!?!!!!!!?

SCROLL BACK UP THIS WAS MADE IN BLENDER

funniest thing about bbc merlin to me is the show’s staunch refusal to even TOUCH the subject of christianity. this obviously went right over my head at age 13 but upon rewatching it’s such a huge ignored elephant in the room it has me cackling. “we must eradicate the Old Religion” ok uther and im assuming youre gonna replace it with a New Religion right? crickets. just a hater for the love of the game apparently

second funniest thing about bbc merlin is that it joined the war on homophobia on the side of homophobia and every fan of the show is like

“ohh 00s diet culture isn’t back because of ozempic, you’re overreacting”

idk i keep seeing previously size-inclusive brands remove plus-sized versions of their clothes from their catalogues entirely, even lines specifically aimed at bigger sizes are cutting their size range down and chopping the bigger ones. i keep seeing mean skinny tiktokers get famous because they said something rude about fat people. when i ask my doctor about weight loss (which my country’s gender treatment clinic requires before i can access even preliminary talks about hrt), i’m immediately offered drugs about it - drugs which, according to the doctor, we don’t know the long-term effects of. but surely! surely it can’t be worse than being fat!

like why are people acting surprised? we’ve made being extremely wealthy the aspirational aesthetic to strive for, made ‘being skinny and having a lot of time and money to stay beautiful’ a not only viable but lucrative carreer for people, and then released a drug that is wildly expensive and will make people thin.

of course people are gonna make being thin the ultimate status symbol again - it more than ever before signals wealth and leisure-time.

like, do you think it’s a coincidence that people are back to constantly spouting 'nothing tastes as good as skinny feels’ again? and pretending being fat is a matter of lacking self-control around cake or whatever? as if people haven’t spent decades trying to get these fucks to understand that actually healthy produce and the time to maintain your body are extreme luxuries in our society?

anyway my broke fat ass can’t find pants i like and can afford because the size-inclusive lines i’d have shopped at previously have axed anything over a size xl

and like. i’m not even that fat. what the fuck do people bigger than me do. it’s really heinous right now for fat peeps.

whenever we try to get our dogs excited for something we’ve been saying “do you want [activity / treat / etc]” and only now we’ve realized that they don’t actually understand [activity / treat / etc] in isolation. we can say “ice cream” a million times to no response, but “do you want ice cream” works.

however, “do you want” also works.

    “want” by itself, also works

we’ve conditioned our dogs to beg for the root of all suffering - they will not be escaping the cycle of samsara - we goofed - their karma is fucked - absolutely fucked

Meanwhile my husband and I have a silly little “it’s wet food time” song we sing the BBQ Crew every night.

Fast forward 3 years since its introduction and they now think the following things mean “it’s wet food time”

    1. Singing any song around that general time of night

    2. Saying The words: Wet.

    3. Food.

    5. Or Time.

    6. Because we needed SOME code word we started using “WFT” to each other and it’s now cursed.

    7. As is taking in too deep of a breath during the usual Time, which will be interpreted as possibly singing the Wft song in question.

    8. Saying anything in a high voice or singsong way

Former Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer reveals she regrets buying Tumblr instead of Netflix or Hulu. Yahoo bought Tumblr in 2013 for $1.1 billion, but by the time it was sold in 2019, the value of the platform was reportedly down to $3 million. pic.twitter.com/YfH5dpL4Kf — Pop Base (@PopBase) May 7, 2023ALT

And why did the value plummet, Marissa? Why did it plummet?

Would like to know how exactly she wouldn’t fuck up Netflix or Hulu

Yahoo thought Tumblr would be the next PDF

What does that even mean? PDF as in Portable Document Format?

i cannot stress enough that i dont think yahoo even knew what a pdf was

you left out the best part of that article. the poor yahoo emplyees at those meetings were just as confused as the rest of us.

When we were children, my sister had private music lessons at her violin teacher’s house. I only visited there once, but I still remember that afternoon. The teacher had an artificial pond in her yard, a large beautiful thing with lily pads and plant life. And in the pond, there were goldfish. I had never seen such enormous goldfish.

I spent several minutes just staring at them (and trying to convince them to bite my fingers.) When my sister’s violin lesson ended, her teacher came out to the yard and explained that these goldfish were the same small creatures that were often unfortunately sold in plastic bags at state fairs. They were only about two inches long apiece, when she bought them and put them in the new, empty pond. In essence, they were like every goldfish I had seen before, but they had been given a much larger, much richer environment in which to flourish. As a result, they had grown into some of the most remarkable, vibrant creatures my twelve-year-old self had ever met with. All because of a pond.

Funny what lessons children remember. My sister doesn’t play the violin anymore, but that was the first time I caught a glimpse of the overwhelming extent to which it matters, the way the world treats us.

I think this might be the best post of yours I’ve ever read
